Upgrade, cancel, or change plans
Upgrading, switching plans, canceling, resuming, and what happens to your pages and a failed payment along the way.
Everything lives in one place: Settings, then the Plan and billing card.
Canceling never deletes your content. Pages beyond a smaller plan's limits are paused and come back if you upgrade again.
Upgrade to a paid plan
- Open Settings and find the Plan and billing card. Available plans are listed with monthly price and limits.
- Click Upgrade next to the plan you want.
- Enter payment details in Stripe Checkout. Payments are handled by Stripe; PageSumo never sees your card number.
- You return to Settings. Your plan updates a few moments later; refresh to see it.
You may also get a direct upgrade link, for example from a limit message in Claude. It shows what the plan includes and its price, then continues to checkout.
Switch between paid plans
- Go to Settings, then Plan and billing.
- Click Switch next to the plan you want.
Your existing subscription moves over. No second checkout, and Stripe only charges the difference.
Cancel
- Go to Settings, then Plan and billing.
- Click Manage billing to open the billing portal, where you can cancel, update your card, or view invoices.
Your paid plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for; Settings shows the exact date. After that your account moves to the free plan, and pages beyond its limit go offline. Nothing is deleted.
When a downgrade leaves pages offline, the Dashboard says so with a banner and an Upgrade your account button that brings them back in seconds.
Keep a specific page live through a cancellation
- Before your paid period ends, delete pages until you're within the free plan's 10. If you're inside the limit when the downgrade lands, nothing pauses at all.
- Or after it lands, pick yourself: on the Pages screen, click Keep this one live on the page you want up. This choice only appears once pages have paused; until then your most-viewed pages stay live by default.
Resume after canceling
While your cancellation is pending, the Dashboard shows a banner: "Your plan ends on" the date, with a Resume button. Click it and a confirmation spells out exactly what happens: nothing is charged today, your subscription simply continues, and your next payment falls on your normal billing date.
You can also resume from Settings, then Plan and billing, then Manage billing.
Resuming only works before the period ends. After that the subscription is over and you'd upgrade again instead.
Common questions
My payment failed. You keep your paid plan while Stripe retries. Settings shows a notice asking you to update your card in Manage billing. If every retry fails the subscription ends and your account moves to the free plan, with the same pause rules as any downgrade. Your content is never deleted.
Visitors are seeing "This page is offline". Your account is over its current plan's limits. See Plans and limits, or upgrade to bring everything back.
Can I get a refund? Refunds are governed by the terms of service at https://pagesumo.com/terms.
