Manage a page
Rename, change the address, password-protect, replace the file, move it to a domain, tune its search appearance, or delete it.
Open Pages in the dashboard and click a page. Everything below happens there.
Text fields (name, address, search fields) save together with the Save changes button at the bottom. Toggles and pickers apply the moment you click them.
Rename a page
- Go to the Page details tab.
- Change Page name.
- Click Save changes.
The name is only how the page appears in your dashboard. Renaming does not change its web address.
Change a page's web address
- On Page details, edit the URL slug field. Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens.
- Click Save changes.
Old links stop working the moment you save. There's no forwarding from the old address to the new one, so anyone holding the old link gets a "not found" page. Change the slug before you share the link widely, and re-share the new one anywhere the old one was posted.
Changed it by mistake? Set the address back to its old value and your old links work again.
Two rules: another of your pages can't already use that slug (saving fails with "You already have a page with that URL"), and the address can't be admin or start with an underscore.
A page inside a site works differently. Its address comes from its place in the site, so the slug isn't editable here. See Build a site with many pages.
Password-protect a page
- On Page details, find the Password protection card.
- Turn on Require a password to view this page.
- Enter a password (at least 4 characters) and click Set password.
Visitors now see a lock screen and must enter the password before any content loads. Protected pages are also hidden from Google and AI search engines, and their links show no preview image when shared.
Once a password is set you can Change it (then Save password), pause protection with the toggle (the page goes public but your password stays saved), or Remove it entirely.
Changing the password locks out everyone who had already unlocked the page.
See Keep a page private for choosing between a password and hiding a page from search.
Replace the page's file
- Go to the Replace file tab.
- Drag and drop the new file onto the drop zone, or click to browse. Accepted:
.html,.htm,.jsx,.tsx.
The URL stays the same, and the page's views, leads, and analytics history carry on uninterrupted. You can also just ask Claude to update the page.
Move a page to one of your domains
- On Page details, find the Where this page lives card.
- Pick a home: My PageSumo address (your
yourname.pagesumo.comsubdomain) or any custom domain you've connected.
The page moves right away. Each page lives in exactly one place. Nothing is deleted by a move, and the page's subdomain link always redirects to wherever it lives now. See Use your own domain for moving several pages at once.
Change how the page looks in Google and when shared
On Page details, the Search & AI card holds the Meta title and Meta description (the headline and blurb search results show), Keywords, and two toggles, Allow search engines and Allow AI agents. All of it is generated automatically when you publish, and all of it is editable. Click Save changes and the live page updates right away.
For what the toggles change, see Get found by Google and AI.
Share image. The picture shown when your link is posted in iMessage, Slack, or social apps. By default it's a screenshot captured when you publish. Click Upload image and pick a PNG, JPG, or WebP up to 5 MB, shown at 1200 by 630. Remove returns to the automatic screenshot. Password-protected pages show no share image at all.
Favicon. The small icon in the browser tab. Click Upload favicon and pick a PNG, JPG, SVG, or ICO up to 512 KB. Unlike the share image, a favicon still appears on a password-protected page.
Delete a page
- On Page details, click Delete page at the bottom.
- Confirm with Delete page in the dialog.
This can't be undone. The page and its public URL are permanently removed. Export the page's leads first if you want to keep them.
The four tabs
- Overview: preview thumbnail, the page's links, its stats, recent leads, and share links for tracking traffic sources. View analytics jumps to the full Analytics screen filtered to this page; Open opens the live page.
- Leads: every submission the page's form has captured, with Export CSV. See Capture leads from your pages.
- Page details: everything above.
- Replace file: upload a new file to the same URL.
FAQ
My thumbnail is missing or out of date. Nothing to do. A fresh screenshot is captured whenever you publish or replace a page, and a missing one is captured in the background next time you open the page in the dashboard. There's no refresh button because you don't need one.
I saved a change but the live page looks the same. Visitors who loaded the page in the last minute may see the old version until they refresh. Wait a minute and hard refresh.
