Leads and analytics
See your traffic and results
Reading the Analytics screen, tagging links so you know where traffic came from, and why numbers differ between screens.
Open Analytics in the dashboard sidebar. Views, unique visitors, leads, conversion rate, traffic sources, countries, and devices are already being counted. There's no tracking script to install.
Two filters at the top control the whole screen: a page filter (All pages or one page) and a range (Last 7 days, Last 30 days, or Last 90 days).
Know where your traffic came from
Apps and DMs usually strip the referrer, which makes real traffic look like "Direct". Tag your links and it survives:
- Open the page from Pages. On the Overview tab, find the Share links card.
- Type where you plan to post it (for example "Indie Hackers") and click Generate link, or click a suggestion chip like Product Hunt or X.
- Share the generated link instead of the plain URL.
Every visitor and signup it brings now shows under that name in the sources table. Sites have the same card on the site's Overview tab.
To remove a link you no longer need, click the trash icon on its row. Visits already attributed to it stay in your analytics.
What's on the screen
- Metric cards: Views, Visitors (unique people), Leads, and Conv. rate for the chosen range.
- Daily views: a bar chart of views per day.
- Top pages (all-pages view): your busiest pages with views, leads, and conversion. Click a row to drill in.
- Where traffic comes from (one page selected): sources with views, leads, and conversion each.
- Countries and Devices: location, and Mobile, Tablet, or Desktop.
- Read by AI: which AI assistants read your pages.
Each page's Overview tab also has a View analytics link straight to its own numbers.
Common questions
Why do I see two different conversion rates for the same page? The Conv. rate card on Analytics divides leads by visitors (unique people). The page workspace, the Leads screen, the Dashboard, and the Top pages and sources tables divide leads by views. A page always has at least as many views as visitors, so the card's number runs the same or higher. Both are correct; they use a different base.
Why don't the Dashboard home cards match Analytics? The home cards always cover the last 30 days whatever range Analytics is set to, so they only line up when Analytics shows Last 30 days.
How are visitors counted? Per page, per day. PageSumo tells people apart with a short-lived anonymized daily fingerprint that's discarded after a few days. Raw IP addresses are never stored and no cookies are set. Because it's per page per day, one person reading three of your pages counts as three visitors in the all-pages total, and someone returning tomorrow counts again.
Why are my views lower than my stats somewhere else? Only human visits are counted. Bots, crawlers, and uptime monitors are filtered out, and AI assistants reading your page land in Read by AI instead of your view counts. A person who clicks through to your page from ChatGPT does count as normal traffic.
Why doesn't my history go back further? Counting isn't retroactive. Visits from before analytics existed were never recorded.
Why is some traffic "Direct" when I posted the link somewhere? That app stripped the referrer. Use a share link next time.
